Women in Church

I think this is a very important topic that so many people have misconceptions or not-fully-formed conceptions about. I am among those without fully formed conceptions and I'm glad Katie brought the issue up in her last post. Below is just something I found that might help us all out in figuring this maze out.

Thoughts on the subject by N.T. Wright

For my part, I don't recall any passages that specifically tell women to submit to men other than in the context of husband-wife relationships. As to men taking the lead in relationships, I believe the best reason for this is to serve as the context or tone to any possible marriage. A woman asking a man out doesn't seem to set quite the right tone for a marriage in which the woman is submitting.
